Windows XP and Office XP Compatibility

Windows XP (Home or Professional)

Windows XP is fully compatible with the current upgrade of the Eurolink software.

Ensure the following parameters are configured:

Go to the PARAMETERS : SYSTEM PREFERENCES : OTHER SETTINGS screen.
In the 'Start' box in the lower right, enter: STRT.BAT
Continue and Save.

Install the correct ODBC drivers needed when writing letters by saving the file VFPODBC.MSI from our 'downloads' page and then double-clicking on the saved file. It will automatically install.

Office XP (Word 2002)

Office XP is fully compatible with the current upgrade of the Eurolink software.

Ensure the following parameters are configured:

In the 'User Details' screen for the person using Office XP, set:

Word Path:    WINWORD.EXE
Word Macro:    WINMERXP.DOT /mmailmerge
Excel Path:    EXCEL.EXE

Go into Word, and ensure that the Macro Security is set to 'medium' or 'low'. This can be found on the 'Tools' menu.

Important Note:

If your network has a mixture of Word 2000 and Word 2002 please note that Word 2000 CANNOT open Word 2002 documents. Therefore, if you save any letters in Word 2002, they MUST be saved as Word 2000 or Word 6.0 documents.

ODBC Drivers (in Control Panel)

Go to Control Panel : ODBC Data Sources.

In the 'Driver' column, ensure that there is only ONE driver that is shown as a "Microsoft FoxPro VFP Driver (*.dbf)". If no driver is listed, you will need to add one by clicking 'Add' on the right. When asked for a 'Data Source Name' enter 'Visual FoxPro Tables' and choose the 'Free Tables' option.
